Capri Sockets?

Looking at getting some new 1/4" drive SAE sockets and I'm interested in the Capri 6 point master set (sans rail) but the cost gives me doubts about the quality. It's $7 less than the comparable Tekton set.

Is there that much difference in quality between those two brands? It's hard to believe that there's enough markup to cover that much difference at this pricing level.

I have the Capri sockets but the only Tekton tools that I have are a crowfoot set so its tough to compare directly. However, I haven't found anything to complain about with the Capri sockets. Nice fit, chrome, marking...

I just got a impact set so far so good. The socket holder is made in USA by Westling
machine.

Both sets are nice. Capri is well worth the money so is Tekton. And both made in Taiwan with great hassle free warranties. I own more Capri than I do Tekton so I’d probably get the Capri. I use their tools in a professional environment and they hold up really well.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the main stream Taiwan brands, they all seem to be excellent. I'm more partial to Sunex, but that's just personal preference

I want to try more Capri stuff. Only have a 1/4” drive flex head ratchet and 1/4” drive 8mm socket. Love the finish and quality of them.

I only have experience with two Capri sockets. Both 1/4" drive 15mm in shallow and deep. Only used the shallow a couple of times. Seem pretty decent to me. I also have a set of Tekton 1/2" drive metric deepwall in chrome. They are nice as well and no issues with them so far.

A big YES on Capri quality. While I prefer the chrome quality and markings on my Teton sockets, buying from Capti direct is fantastic. They throw in a goodie bag with every purchase and their warranty service is fastest of anyone I’ve used. (Not 3 weeks like Gearwrench)

I use their wrenches and not sockets daily, and have their 12 point 3/8” set when 6 point won’t work.

It has been a long time since I've seen a bad Taiwanese socket. Even Pittsburgh Pro is perfectly acceptable in my opinion.

Got them this afternoon but have not had a chance to use them yet. Since they’re SAE, it may be a while before that happens.

I ordered the set without the magnetic socket rail, but the sockets still came very nicely packaged in a plastic tray. Honestly, if I didn’t already have rails, I’d be tempted to leave them in the tray.

The chrome plating appears flawless inside and out.

I would assume that Capri uses a similar system to Tekton, and others- they send a drawing out for bids and then "Acme socket Mfg company of Taiwan" wins the contract, and they build it for them. There are soooo many companies selling similar products like sockets that they can't all come out of dedicated factories. I doubt even a huge name like Gearwrench has a factory with their sign on the outside.
