Dunno guys - maybe worth watching.

NEW DISCOVERY SERIES "WEAPONIZERS"

From the producers that brought you MYTHBUSTERS comes an explosive new series, WEAPONIZERS premiering on Discovery Channel US, May 11, 2009. The pilot series is expected to gain enough audience attention that it will turn into a Discovery staple feature.

This new program combines creativity, military-like strategy and engineering as two teams of master builders -- dubbed Weaponizers -- turn ordinary vehicles into remote-controlled machines of destruction. With the pace and intensity of a video game, the vehicles are completed with live-ammunition machine guns and other seemingly ordinary objects that are transformed into powerful weapons. Building on the teams' expertise -- hot rod restoration, pyrotechnics, special effects, crash engineering and military weaponry -- the opponents harness their ingenuity in a competition face off where the goal is to achieve victory by creating an indestructible vehicle. In each episode, the teams convert regular rides such as a shuttle bus, an ice cream van and muscle cars into vicious vehicles. Using science, special effects, engineering, metal fabrication and a bit of fantasy, they construct and test their vehicles to ensure that they pack the biggest punch and are fully remote-controlled. Once all testing is complete, each team descends into respective underground control bunkers to command their vehicles for the two-round competition.

In round one, the teams undertake a challenge-based phase where the vehicles race to destroy or defend exploding targets such as medieval castles or Mad Max style fuel depots. Then in round two, the Weaponizers are thrown into a Carmageddon Round -- the rules are there are no rules. It's a gloves off test of what expertise these teams can draw on to achieve victory, which in WEAPONIZERS' terms means there is only one vehicle left standing!

I watched the last 10 minutes or so last night. It was OK, probably will not make time to watch it but if I scan by and it's on I may give it a second chance.

The mini gun was cool, but they definitely rigged the explosions. The editing was bad, the explosions seemed like they were done as an after thought. At least throw a propane tank or 2 in the thing before you start shooting at it.

Yea, when they were shooting the machine guns remotely, you could hear them still firing after the explosion and after the guy let go of the controls. Weird. I'm sure a lot of things were embellished.

I always liked Jesse. I preferred monster garage when they focused on what was being built as opposed to who was building it. It got to the point where they were focusing on the fights between the people so much you could not see how or what was being built. At the end of the show I got the impression from Jesse that he was pretty much done with it.

Please don't take offense...I have watched a few shows...Rides, The chopper one. etc and all I see is stuff-ups. Two examples. The Rides show was about making a late model mustang into an elanor/ Foose creation. They made a front body air dam mold and couldn't get it off...they destroyed the clay buck...a stuff-up. No explanation. The chopper bunch of dills bought a custom frame and had it powder coated and then when the big tyre/wheel turned up ..it didn't fit the frame so they threw the frame away. This is not the way to show people how to build stuff. **** shows that are like soaps.

im not defending him (jesse) , but i dont see you posting ANY pics of something you built half as cool as the **** he's done.

I deal with real pros who do not care what I think of them they only care is of there product, they also do not charge an ego tax for lame inferior workmanship or materials.

Have your wheels been in the Classics races ? have they been to the big tours? have then been to the Worlds or Olympics? , national championships? I can say yes to all of them and need not show off my work as I know it is great.

Making thing to expand your ego is not cool, making things just to take money from the unformed is also not cool.

The real cool people and builders do not care what you think of their image they only care is the product.
