I am getting ready to build a car body jig. I have the measurements that I need to fit my car (GM A body) and know how much material I will need. My question is what size of square tubing should I use. I looked at 2"x2" 1/4" thick ($4.58 a foot, 20ft section) and also 1 1/2"x1 11/2" 1/4" thick ($3.42 a foot, 20ft section). My idea will be like that photo attached, excepts mine will have 8 legs total, with leveling feet. It also wont be as tall.
This wont be a one time thing as I have a couple of other cars after to do. The reason for the body jig is so I can repair the floor pans and trunk floor without the frame being in my way. And I can also redo my frame when the body is off.
