Not bad for £20

I got one like that only it was made of wood, I took it home and my wife took it away from me.

I always knew it as the British term for the trunk of a car but clearly that is not the meaning here.

We call them wheel clamps, they don't need to wait to use them here, slap the ticket on and immediately clamp, the clamp removal fee is often more than the parking ticket, at least they have banned their use on private car parks now, only council owned car parks where at least the clampers are working within the law and not just clamping anybody and demanding payment.

Police don't like it when their boot is cut for scrap... typically will send you the bill.

Car boot sale = flea market tailgate (vs. a football game tailgate ~ gridiron football not soccer)

I learned something today (car boot I knew, sale was a new one on me)
