Can any of you recommend a good software package that helps track (and maybe remind) the cost, timing and type of repair or upgrade on cars. The emphasis is on carS. Many of you have 4, 5 and more cars.

I am looking for more than "I use an eXcel spreadsheet". This is for a buddy whose car hobby has outgrown a simple spreadsheet.

Any thoughts?
Any recommendations?

TIA
Craig

Let me know what you guys would need. I'm going to ask my programmer friend if he can come up with something.

Hell, I need the same thing, too.

I had sent in a suggestion that they include it with Quicken somehow - they have home inventory, stock, and such information able to be tracked so it makes some sense that cars are your next big money issue. I'd see it tracking costs and milage and using that to put up popups when maintenance is due or such.

i'll stick to a good old pen and paper log it makes it easy, has the exact format and info you need plus you dont have to worrie abought loseing the info if you're computer crashes I know what you are saying abought haveing a bunch of cars why not just make a spreadsheet up for each if you need to use the computer you are only working on one car at a time anyways :headscrat

If the person has outgrown the options of Excel, but up till then has been using Excel, they might like to try Microsoft Access. You can customize it anyway you want, and it's made based on creating links between various types of Excel charts/graphs. I believe also being a Microsoft product, it works easily with MS Money (which I know isn't Quicken, but it's at least close).
