So i have seen some car condos on here and online but I haven't seen one in person yet. I had a chance to take my camaro to chrome n coffee at iron gate condos in naperville Illinois this past Saturday and will say that i am in total impressed with how cool this place is. Seems like an awesome community to be a part of.. all of the unit owners that I talked to were super friendly and i will say that most of the units were crazy decked out like over the top kitchen and bars!

On the flip side if i had the money to buy one I would rather have a dream garage or shop at my house cause I wouldn't want to have to drive to my shop to work on my cars...

Ill let the pictures do the rest, sorry for the crappy photos from my iphone. Sun was super bright and it was hard to get good shots

Thanks for sharing!

I think the condo thing is perfect for the person who can't build a shop due to HOA, limited space on their property or for someone that may tend to move. Its also great for someone who has discretionary income to spend. Sure makes for a great gathering place. I don't think much gets done in there aside from maybe an oil change, then off to a game of pool.

The complex here in Minneapolis has a lot of garages that are like the ones pictured above, but there are also a lot that are being used for serious fabrication and/or repair of project cars. It's a pretty good mix of both.

Id do one of those at a track...but just a bunch of garages? Nah.

My same thoughts. I've been to Iron Gate. It's ok. If you live near that place in Naperville, IL you might as well buy a house with a larger lot, land is plentiful and inexpensive out there.

The same concept is at Autobahn Country Club, which is a nearby track but I think you need to be a member to build there which dramatically limits your re-sale. Also, most of the "Garages" are custom free-standing structures so it prob costs more.

But I also get the idea of having all your toys in one place with other "like minded" individuals.

They took an old airport terminal in Stuttgart Germany and turned it into high end glass enclosed garages and some retail, museum, and high end dealers like Ferrari and Lambo.
