these are one of the best you will find: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VNFYXO/?tag=atomicindus08-20

note that the price is for a pair

I have 4 of these and I think there great. I use them to spin a 5000# tandem sled trailer into a corner. The nice part is you just release them and remove them. I have 2 cars and the trailer and with the dolley style you need several pairs or you have jack up the car and remove them. Time waster.

I can see your point about the pump up dollies.

I do like the 'Auto Dolly' for the fact it's American made.

Anyone know of a good garage/mechanics supply house in the Washington metropolitan area?

I prefer to buy local.

Go Jacks get my vote! If you have the time to watch craigslist they show up in sets on there, otherwise they are quite expensive new. I have a set of 6200 series and without a doubt the best for moving cars around the shop!

As in - DC?

HF has several locations.

If u r only using them for a project, the HF ones are fine. If they are. Part of you're car storage strategy, get the easiest to roll. That would be the expensive ones.

I did a frame-off resto on a 67 ChevelleSS over a 5 yr period on a set of HF dollies. Worked great. Even spun the car end for end more than once with no problems.

I have 4 of the HF dollies - #67338. They work, but only if you take the casters apart and re-work them by cleaning up the "bushings" in the rollers, adjusting the axles and greasing things up. The black steel wheels will tend to mark the epoxy floor when changing direction or if they get a bit of grit hung under one. I have a "working" epoxy floor, so it doesn't bother me and they work good nuff for what I need. I have the Falcon up on those and it weighs in at 3040lbs. However, if you can afford a better quality, get it.

I have a set of the GoJak 5000's that were sold on Craigslist. The guy had advertised them as the 6200, I need the extra width. :dunno: I bought them and they work great on my epoxy floor, really heavy duty. Great for moving cars around so I can cram as many cars as possible in the garage for storms. It makes it a single person operation, I have not tried trucks, suv's etc. Leaving cars on the dollies is not a problem either.
Not being hydraulic or having to jack up the car first is a real plus.
I have bought a set of the 4500 which hopefully will arrive soon.
I will most likely sell my 5000's in a week or 2 if anyone is interested, sorry to highjack the thread.

I have the HF ones and REALLLLY dislike them. I messed my knee up pretty bad (reinjued). My car is heavy.. I have a HARD time moving it by myself. If the GF helps, it won't take much on her part to do what I need but solo is nearly impossible... I'm actually looking at replacing them now with something better.
