Car Door Garage Guards?

Can anyone recommend a good wall mounted door guard and pole mounted door guard for the garage? My garage is constructed of concrete block and it has a wood post (load bearing) in the center that unfortunately is directly in the way of my car door. I would like to find something that will help protect my doors from potential dings, wood post on one side, concrete on the other. My plan is to relocate the post in the future with two posts, equal distributing the weight, but for now, I would just like to find something that I can mount that will not cause harm to my door/paint should I accidently open my door(s) too wide. I have checked at California Car Cover and Griots Garage, but some are rubber, others plastic, and others polyester, but have no idea what is best? Suggestions? Ideas? Thanks. -Jeff

Look for a padding kit for volleyball net posts or basketball posts. They come in various colors and are removable... plus they will give you 360 degree protection. For the wall.. a strip of plastic or rubber at the door height is all you need.

I use boat dock bumper strips....tough, easy to mount and inexpensive. Plus they compress so they will take a hard hit without damage to the doors. Great if you have kids opening the doors :wtf:

I just staple a nice piece of scrap carpet to the wall. Harder on your concrete wall, but easy on the wooden post.
