Car falls off jack and kills a man

I use a bunch of 4 by 4 or 4 by 6, etc..., 2 foot long pieces of wood and I block the tires so it cant roll.

The stupid part of this is that for at least 30-35 years I've been using the cheapest (like $2.99 back then - seriously!) steel jackstands I got at Montgomery Wards (remember them?) when I was a kid. I ALWAYS leave the jack in place as a fail-safe device to the jackstand, but still.



I bought them, as a teenager, in the 70's. Two little spot welds, on each horizontal brace, at each leg! I gave them away, decades ago.

You would think that by the time one reaches their 20's some common sense would fall into play.
