While my car project is taking forever to complete, I got tired of tripping over my headers. I didn't want to waste precious wall space to get them off of the floor, so I came up with the following.

Simple 1/4" bolts, washers and nuts were all it took to hang them up as shown in the images below. I got lucky and the header flange holes matched the existing holes in the angle strips for the door.

Perhaps this can work for you too. Just mount them high enough so you don't whack you head on them. :eyecrazy:

What a great idea! I've got a pair of headers that I've been struggling with storage for years.

Great idea Dilley - hey, just a heads-up....your springs above your garage door may need a little WD-40 soak. I do mine at the beginning of each season ever since one went loose on me while I was IN the garage - like a grenade going off!

You're absolutely right FDNY-L107... keen eye! That spring did break since that photo. Scared the you know what outta me! :shocking:

The garage door company that replaced the spring said the same thing. Hit it with WD40 every once in a while. Turns out the spring rusts, which binds it up. The extra friction finally fatigues it and POW!

BTW, I used a garage door company to replace the spring because I personally know a guy who lost an eye by attempting to replace his. Just throwin' this out there. I'm sure plenty of you have changed your own.

Thanks for the storage compliments guys.
