it has been 5 years in the works with a lot of set backs both financial and physical. it has been everything from oh fuk when did the roof start leaking to hunny i found some new kitchen cabinets i have to have on the financial end to 2 back surgery and 7 *** surgery's (insert your joke here) but this is the summer of car guy
this spring we got the land prepped and ready wich was a huge undertaking with a back hoe and dozer then the waiting game for it to settle out good. then i finally scored that diamond jubilee for less than a grand and sold with enough profit to buy the lumber package with cash. then 2 days later i get the call that the metal is going up 10% so i bought it before it jumped up and ended up in surgery 2 days after it was delivered. 6 weeks later i tried building it with help of a few buddys we got the posts set and all but 1 was getting scared being up in the air so high wobbling around on the posts so i decided to just higher a real builder to finish it and they are kicking *** on there days off from there real building jobs. 2 days in for them and its under roof 2 guys the 1st day then 3 the 2nd. they know im in no hurry now that i have a roof over it keeping it pretty dry but they all want paid and will be back sunday to finish it up worst case then its off to concrete and framing in the loft and walls out for 6" of insulation.
it is a 28'deep x 32'wide x16'6" tall loft goes over half, 1.5 bath, hydronic heat, central ac, 12k lb 2 post hoist, 200amp single phase power, pull points in the floor. it just feels good to be getting close to out of my 15x24 and back in to a shop that has room for 2 + cars. the only bad thing is car gal is already planning the house she wants to build  but i guess thats ok were she knows it will be a saving game and paid for in cash just like the barn.
