Hi All,
I picked up a Ford-Smith TEC-9 hoist at a really good price - I have ot bolted down with 1 anchor on each post to get it working. Everything seems good, but I'm not sure if these are intended to be mounted at 30 degrees or parallel. Does anyone recall with these lifts? I've seen pictures of it installed both ways.
Thank you!

Is it a 2 post or center lift?
2 post, looks like this (Illustration purposes only, this random internet pic is installed at an angle but some other pics are not)
It has the short/long arm as illustrated here.
Key clue that make me *think* parallel is the pretty standard rectangle base plate that is symmetrical front to back.

honestly man im not super familiar with that specific hoist. ive got a 2-post in my garage but its pretty basic. id probably go with whatever lets you work under it easier tho. parallel seems safer if youre gonna be crawling around underneath. what are you lifting, a jk or something else?
I have an '03 F-250 and a newer Durango. Maybe a few smaller cars for family. Although I do have an 82 CJ7 sitting in my yard that might find it's way back to life on this new lift...

For anyone that happens to come across this in the future:
For a Ford-Smith TEC-9 with asymmetric arms, they should be installed with the following specs:
120" from the back wall minimum
22 degrees rotation for the posts
Distance apart measured from furthest bolt to furthest bolt: Max 142", min 136"
