Anyone have one of these lifts from Lift Superstore in Oakville? http://www.liftsuperstore.com/web/restomodstackerxl/index.php

I'm considering a lift in my rather small double car garage (two single doors). The lift will likely be very tight against the one outside wall which will limit me to working on one side of a vehicle at a time. A necessary compromise. I do have 12' ceilings but I will need to change my tracks/opener which looks kind of expensive from what I'm seeing so far. I especially like the fact that these lifts run on 110V ~8A - so no "special" circuit is required.

Any news on this? They indicate US hydraulics amongst other pro's. I checked with the "superstore" however they don't actually have a store with new items you can inspect before purchasing.

I exchanged emails with Babco re bendpak XRP9F was $3,870 and they didnt want to ship to my home and no installation available.

Lift superstore's 9,000 lift is quoted at $2,700, installed.

Sorry, I overstated the difference which is 43% not 50.

lol, the Dannmar that they carry would be a competitive lift with the no name superstore one. Check costco.ca - they have the lifts as well.

I'm not in a position to compare them, thats why I asked them to let me have a look at them first.

I thought babco could have been a bit more proactive/accomodating with their response. They gave me no option for delivery to my home. And no option for installation help. I'm a handy guy but new to the country (just moved to Canada from Australia, dont know anyone here to help) and my pregnant wife isnt in a position to help put the columns up.

I am no dolt so I can appreciate there is a difference in quality and price. However Babco basically eliminated themselves from consideration by not offering a delivery option or assistance.

For some reason it seems like you are implying I am dumb for asking if the price difference matches up with people's first-hand experience with these lifts?

I am now asking the same question as the OP, does anyone have experience with these lifts?

I don't know who else is a lift distributor in Canada, but I would really look for a name brand lift.. check out some danmar / directlift , or if you are willing to spend a few more bucks, a bendpak hd9

As far as assembling it, it is doable by yourself.. its just going to be alot of work. I just assembled a bendpak with my father, and an engine hoist was we used for everything. We got it off the car trailer ourselves with the help of a couple moving dollies and a floor jack and the engine hoist. Assembling it was about the same.. the posts aren't too heavy, those you can move.. just lay them down on wood blocks and slide the crossbeams in, then stand them up ( might want a helper for that, but your wife could probably do it with you- its not too heavy, just awkward). As far as the ramps, the engine hoist plus some straps were the ticket there.. just lift it up, then set on the engine hoist arms and roll into position, then lift and swing into place and drop on the crossbeams. Once that's done, all the hard stuff is out of the way

Try carlift.ca Though I do not think they can/will deliver to your door.

There is another seller in Peterbrough I will see if I can track down the name of the company. Some truck accessory place.
