Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site, wondering if anyone has tried the Atlas car lift from Greg Smith Equipment, or any of the similar lifts in the $1500 price range?

There are tons of threads on this subject already, a quick search will give you weeks of reading material. Tons of different opinions, lots of good insight.

I can tell you I have one of the less expensive 4 post lifts, it is made by Dannmar. Mine came from Garage Equipment services in Moorpark CA. The tech support guys went out of their way to be helpful, and the entire company was a pleasure to deal with. I am thrilled with my lift and my only complaint is that I waited so long before getting it.

Best of luck on your search.

John,
Welcome !
Do you want 2 post or 4 post? How much space do you have? What weight/size vehicle are you lifting?
Have you noticed that many of the cheap lifts look identical except for name/color? They are made in the same factory(?) in China. So specifying Greg Smith lifts may be misleading.
If you read through the many GJ posts on this subject , you'll find Greg Smith & Bend Pak seem to have excellent customer service. I mention this because what if your generic chinese lift needs a part/repair in 5 years time ? Many of the chinese lifts offered are just traders.distributors -they have little technical help/parts/service.
There are a bewildering number of factors to evaluate . I'll throw in one that is seldom mentioned since there are so many posts on the general issues. Code/inspection requirements. Where I live ,the installation of a 2 post lift requires several inspections by the Building Inspector. There can be disputes about required concrete thickness/strength, anchor specs., electrical ,plus he may tag you for other issues when he visits your property. By contrast, a 4 post lift requires no inspections.Just fit a plug on the electrical connection.
Others may chime in to help you more.
Welcome to GJ.
