car parking ???

I have a two car garage, in it are my project car (96 TA) and 07 malibu, the problem I am having is the depth of the garage. The steps leading into the house are right in front of the car and the garage door is close to the rear end I am looking for the rubber strips the line up the car and keep the steps or door from messing up the car Home Depot has a rubber thing sit on the floor and it says to mark the corners if you need to repostion it after cleaning. I would like something to stay PLEASE HELP

Are you looking for an aid to help you park in a certain spot or something to protect the car once it's in position?

I've looked at the post twice and cannot quite figure out what you are asking for. Do you want something to put on the floor so that you can "feel" it when you pull in? Are you saying you want to make it permanent instead of being able to be moved? Just glue it down.

My grandfather always hung a wiffle ball from the rafters so that it hit the windsheild when the car was in the correct and safe parking area. Sure it is very low tech and not a good looking way to do it, but it did work.

I had the same problem in my garage with my '00 T/A. The hood is so long and drops off, it was tough to know how far I had to pull in. So drilled a couple 1/2" holes in the floor about 3" deep. I use old head bolts that go into a 2X4 into the floor and drive in till I hit it. It works perfect, and if I need to remove it, I just pull the two bolts out of the floor and the 2x4 comes off the floor.

Use the 'ol tennis ball trick

I found a neat twist on the old tennis ball trick at Lowes the other day. It has a ball and string but rather than always hanging there (in the way most of the time), it only drops down when the garage door is open. When you close the garage door the ball is pulled up to the ceiling. The string passes through an eye hook directly above where you want your windshield to be, through a second eye hook closer to the garage door, and then to an eye hook on the top of the door. I installed it yesterday and it works great. I found it with the garage doors and door openers. Costs a little under $5.

Go to Home Depot and search for the "Garage Parking Wizard."

It's a bright light that shines once you pass a certain point. A little more high tech than the old tennis ball trick.

If it's good enough for parking 747s, it should work in your garage....

Great idea. I never liked the tennis ball hanging around when you don't need it, simple too.
