car polish/wax recommendations

I know there are car guys here (as opposed to truck/suv types like myself of late). I haven't been doing too much polishing or waxing lately with the trucks and SUVs I have owned lately.

Now, I have some trail damage/scratches in a specific area that I want to take care of. I am looking for a relatively simple to use product - possibly a liquid polish that will not take all day such as Meguiar’s. I'm not looking for a 12-step, entire weekend project.

Thanks

pretty much all waxes are the same
I only found one that seems to stand above the rest.
collinite wax.
http://www.colliniteautomotive.com/
I have 2 show cars
a 1969 camaro Z-28
and a 1969 Corvette
I spend hundreds trying to find the wax that really worked and this was by far the best .
All car waxes are not the same! However for what you're wanting to do, Collinite 845 is just the ticket. It is not a polish (i.e. it won't fix scratches), only the most durable wax you'll find. If you have trouble finding it, try a boat dealer or buy online.

Zaino, it's a bit of work 1st time you use it but is very durable & resistant to birdshit, tree sap, etc. Looks great. I have a couple of tropies to prove that.

Thanks for all the replies everybody. Now I have a few choices.

itb76, I was looking at 845 before you posted but I'm a little confused - did you mean that polishes do not fix scratches or that 845 will not fix scratches?

845 sounds like a good topcoat but if it will not fix these scratches, I need to use something else first.

Try some meguiar scratch x. Then the final wax or polish. I agree with the Collonite or Zaino suggestions. A couple over the counter products that are quite good are Dura Gloss available at Car Quest or Liquid Glass available at most auto parts stores.

I like to keep it simple - I use Meguiar's "Gold Class" liquid on my '67 Corvette and '69 Camaro Z/28 and on my daily drivers; EZ-on, EZ-off, great gloss and depth, lasts for the summer driving season.

Another ZAINO user here and have been for more six years. Other than the first time which takes a little more effort very easy product to use with outstanding results. Nothing sticks to it and it is long lasting. I am sure there are other good products but I love this stuff.

I have has great results with Klasse products and after a wash a light cota of Blitz wax which is pure carnuba. Klasse takes a little work on the first application but the results are worth it.

I have used Zaino for several years. I tried the Meguiars 3 step this most recent time after new paint on my race car...I will stick with Meguiars.

You can either hide the scratches or remove them. Removing them takes time, the right product, tool and skill. Some of the more common products do profess to "fill" them which is just hiding them which is fine.
