Car ramps

The heavy duty plastic car ramps have a 6 1/2 inch lift, I need at least 8 inch to level my Roadtrek RV in the driveway. The cheaper metal ramps with an 8 inch lift do not appear to be strong enough for my RV, a converted Chevy express cab and chassis.

So I am looking at a DIY wood ramp which calls for 2X12 to drive up on. I do not have 2X12 but have access to free 2X6. My question being is 2 2x6 going to be significantly weaker than 1 2X12??

used like that it would. Why get fancy? six 2x6's scrwed flat to eachother will get you your height plus some. start with botttom one like 3 feet long and decrease the lenghth by six inches or whatever to get it up there. Personally i'd like the tire to not be over the edge of the ramp and using 2x6 i think those would.

Thanks for the response, weight is the issue, I'm 75 now and saving a bit of weight looks good. Plus taking the ramp off would give me a bit more room to work under the unit. I measured and the 10 1/2" leaves me enough room, I think the tread width is about 8". Not committed to this yet.
