I got tired of moving dead cars around the shop with a floor jack, so I built these the other day.....
The 3" angle is heavy duty stuff, and the casters are rated at 700 lbs each. They work great, I could push the front of my truck around with one hand. I should have built these years ago.... Still need to paint them, but I want to torture test them in the shop for a while.
I have about $50 and an afternoon in these, pretty simple to build really.

i need some for very temporary use and found the small furniture dollies from HF (on sale for $7.99 each) worked just fine. each is rated for 1,000 lbs.. all four for less than $32.00

That's how I role. My rock crawler sits on hf dollies whenever I take the tires off.

Nice design though. I like the beefy angle iron. I

i think you should close off the other end for some added strength.

Where did you get the casters? Every time I look for casters they are WAY expensive.

I have the HF dollies and don't think much of them. Our car is 2100# and its a bear to make the the HF dollies work under it. We bought them for another project, they owe us nothing.

I doubt if one of the HR dollies would actually hold its rated load of 1000#.

I would trade you for the angle iron dollies in a heartbeat.

Nah - they slide under the tire easily like this!

don't have to close it off with angle, just put a flat bar across the bottom. it will really take the pressure off the other corners.
