Car Skates

Anybody else use these???

I got these from Harbor Freight for about a hundred bucks. They are really great because they allow me to drag the car into the middle of the garage to work on it, and then when I get done, I can roll it back into the corner. That way the wife can still park in the garage.

Its not bad idea...unless you really have to raise the car up....then you would have to take them off....to much time....maybe if you added a big fat aluminum wing like a bunch of these ricers do.....THEN it will actually look like a shopping cart

I dont, because my garage floor has a few large cracks in it that would hinder thier operation, but I have used them in the past and they are really nice to have, especially when detailing a car.

A company also makes ones that are actually floor jacks, so you slide it around the wheel and jack up the car. Cool, but a little over the top lol.

It would be cool to permentantly attach them and drive down the street with these things on......someone has to have done it already....

Yup...I bought a couple of pairs when HF had them on sale (cheaper to buy 2 pairs than to buy their set of 4). They work great......well worth the bucks!!

I have the jack ones made by go- jack for snap on their the best, they will go over alot. They even roll nice on my craftsman flooring.

I can understand using these in a huge like warehouse style garage where you can fit like 30 cars easy....but why would I want these in a standard 2 car garage????

Ok, think of it like this... you can put your car up on them, and move your car to the middle of the garage, and viola! you have complete unobstructed access. Of, if you are waxing a car, you can simply rotate your car or whatever.

Eh, I will just stick with the long drawn out process that every person does in there normal 2 car garage

Maybe when I get that huge warehouse style garage to hold something like this along with my car rotisserie...which that is one thing I wouldnt mind owning

I had a set for my 32 highboy.
It made it easy to push it over against the wall and park my every day car in the garage with lots of room around it.
It does take some time to take it off when I would take it for a spin.

I have a set of "skates" and they are the handiest tools I have when the snow flies in Western PA. I store my cars for the winter and the skates allow me to move the cars around to make room for the truck to be parked in the garage. If you don't have em, buy 'em

And I bet they are fun pushing your car around on the ice too huh hahahaa

I have these under my lateest project. didnt work for $h1t. I had to turn them over and grind the steel wheels down with the angle grinder to keed them from bottoming out on the bearing part of the caster. The car isnt even heavy, 1500# fully assembled and full of fluids and driver. they work ok now tho

They're really handy for a project cars that aren't running, or just moving one into a corner so it's out of the way. Right now I have a car that needs new brake lines, so it's impossible to drive it. The skates allow me to move it so I can work on it & then move it back so it doesn't take up 2 spaces. The biggest complaint I have is that the casters that came with them ****. I bought larger 5" casters & now it's a lot better. If I had to buy them again, I'd get a much better set that rolls easier.

I have them. There are great for no driving cars. I move my car that I have never driven, out of the way while cleaing my always a mess garage, and then just push it back. It also allows me to push the car right up against the wall while hosting "poker night" with my friends.

i have not found anything on wheels from harbor freight that i didn't have to replace the wheels. so like it was said above that's HF for you.
