I'm just starting to understand how to post my pics on the web. Resistant to new technology for a "old timer". The attachment shows my storage solution. I've been interested in cars ever since I can remember. Now I have too many cars to store in a limited space. This garage looks like a 2 car garage from the front of the house, but the left side bay is 42" deep. The right side bay is 24" deep. This configuration allows parking of 4 cars (2 short ones stacked). On the other side of the wall, there is another 16" X 32" of space that I use as my work shop. You can just see the service door behind the GTO. This allows me to keep my special interest cars isolated from any dust or dirt from the "working" garage. My wifes daily beater also resides in the garage. As a side note, the floor is epoxy coated white which I really like for light reflection. The area under the lift is carpeted with a remnant. Makes for comfortable oil changing. The car under the lift is a Acura NSX-T. The car up on the shelf is a 1990 Corvette ZR-1. The other of course is a 2005 GTO.

A man of my own heart. Sold the Vette's some years ago and I just sold my 2004 GTO. In the process of saving for a Factory Five Cobra with a 460 big block now.

The ceiling is 9'0". I''d be out of luck if the 2 cars were any taller. The ZR-1 Vette only has about 1.75" clearance which allows only 1.25" over the NSX on the bottom.

Very nice setup!

Where did you get the storage drawers on the right (red drawers, grey box?) I'm really digging those!

Funny that you ask. My neighbor has some relatives that owned a old auto parts store in Souther Indiana. After they retired, they needed to liquidate all of the "stuff" in the building so that it could be sold. My neighbor had approximately 60 of these type cabinets and told he would get some for me for free. They are actually carbureator parts cabinets from Carter and date back to the early 1940's. They were painted army green and were in very poor condition. I bead blasted them, coated the carcass with truck bed liner and painted the drawers with a "hamertone" red paint. The drawer pulls are made of stainless, so it drill out the attaching rivets, and tumbled them in a vibratory deburring machine I have at work. They came out polished almost to a mirror finish. The only money I have in them is my time and cost of paint.

Actually, everything you see in that shop is industrial waste that I have been able to get my hands on over the years. The work bence and cabinets, the overhead workbench cabinets.

I've always been amazed at what large company's will throw out as being junk or not fitting the "company appearance" guideline. I haul it home and the wheels in my head start turning on how to utilize "junk" to my benefit.:)

They sure cleaned up nice!

I like to hit the local public school auction when i can. The bus garage is always getting rid of nice stuff like that. Too bad scrappers are always on the prowl trying to sell neat old stuff for the price of the metal.
