Does anyone know anything about Worthington aluminum car haulers? Someone in my area has one listed at an auction. Are they any good? How much is a 1996 model at least 16' worth?
Thanks!

*Generally* the frame isn't much of a problem. You need to look at tire condition, bed condition, floor condition if it's wood, bent axles, bent springs, working lighting, etc.

I know nothing about Worthington, but assuming it's comparable to others, and in good working shape, I would guess it's worth about $3-4,000 used. This is assuming you're talking about an open deck trailer.

I can't give you any advice on prices, but you do want to check the frame especially an aluminum trailer. Aluminum trailers tend to crack from the flexing and vibration from normal use. Look to see if it has been welded several times to fix cracks. If it has I would steer away from that trailer. Aluminum loses its flexability and heat treatment if improperly welded or welded numerous times in the same place, which will make it go from a full gvw to 2/3 or even down to 1/2 the GVW safely. If it has not been welded numerous times and has a crack or two, then I would talk them down on price if the rest of trailer is in good shape.

U-Haul and a lot of other rental places seem to be using more and more of the aluminum trailers.
