That's exactly what I need to know. Where can I find the swinging hose, hotsy unit and the hot air blower drying system?

I Live in KY and I personally think a little bit more pressure than a water hose be lot better especially for the under carriage and the wheel wells?

If Fireman's hose would work and build some pressure then by all means I would consider that.

Any links?

Curtain link is awesome..Thanks

That's right

Holy ****.....are you going to this expense just to wash the periodic car when it gets dusty, or are you going to use all of this and ask the neighbors to run through it at $10 a head? It's one thing to have an overhead washer, but to also install a hot air drier along with it :dunno:

/\ That is awesome! Takes the fun out of washing (for an enthusiast) but definitely practical for someone with a little coin who just wants the results.

To protect the walls from splash over... Get a tarp on an overhead trolley line.

Pull in. Pull tarp around. Wash the car. Pull the tarp back On with life.

We used a similar set up at my one job for spraying undercoating and it worked great. Dont see why it wouldn't work acceptably for this type of application.

Good luck, send us some pictures.

There are companies that make curtains for body shops and such. They move on a track. Goff is one. I think they call them curtain walls. Would be ideal to keep splash co trolled and wouldn't be a permanent wall.

This is what I came here to say. With a curtain you can have the best of both worlds. Plus, this approach would be better than a wall for resale value, should you want to re-sell in the future.

Finishing the lighting/wiring part of the garage and soon it would be the dry walling.

The link for commercial curtain system (http://www.curtain-and-divider.com/industrial-curtain-track-hardware/) seems pretty pricey and was wondering if there's any cheaper yet functional alternative?

Thanks

Do you guys have curtain side big truck trailers over there? The kind you can fold vinyl sides back and unload from the side with a forklift? If so I wonder if you could adapt one from a trailer that's being scrapped.

Those are going away fast. Most likely the curtains would be long gone. Tarps on a cable rail is cheap and easy.

When I was younger I worked at a large dealership in town as the porter fetching and washing cars. They had an inside car wash bay and all it was, was a painted concrete block wall about 8 foot tall on one side and full wall on the other. Why not just get a pressure washer a concrete block wall or big plastic curtain wall and call it a day.

I need to cover three sides and want to be able to retract the curtains to get an open space.

Where do I read more about the tarp on a cable rail??

My main hang up at this time is to find a rail that would hang from the ceiling and yet I can move a curtain without running into the suspending part.

You just string the eyelets in the tarp with cable. Then slide it along. You could use shower curtain clips if you don't want the pleats.

I didn't read through all the post so I apologize if I repeat something already mentioned.

I would advise against the overhead pendulum style set up. I've been detailing for 25+ years and while they are nice, there are drawbacks too. The biggest issue I saw back when I used them was the hose slapping against the side of the car when users weren't paying attention. This can and will damage the paint finish. The other issue I saw was hoses wearing faster where the lower hose loop touches the ground. Leaking was another issue that came up and its just more parts and harder to get at when needing to be repaired.

As far as pressure washers go I'd suggest staying away from box store units, as you can slam a few beers and piss with more cleaning power then most of them have. Kranzel and CamSpray are some top notch brands, but expensive too. For someone only working on their own vehicle this is a nice option, compact, powerful, and can easily be wall mounted.

I'm currently planning a new additional (24' x 40') and will be making the front two stalls my wash bay. I plan to use moisture resistant drywall and then installing the water proof panels others have mentioned. I will be using ONR whenever possible, but for bug removal, wheel and wheel well cleaning, and winter salt/sand removal, a pressure washer is key.

I will also be wall mounting my CR Spotless system and having it set up to switch over from tap water to deionized for the final rinse, OR I may sell my CR system and purchase this set up instead simply for the ease of resin changing.

For drying the car after a traditional wash the Metro Vac Master Blaster is the bomb! With the 30' hose option you can wall mount it and should have no issue reaching around the car.
