Carb dip- keep for reuse?

I know this isn't a tool per se, but...

I bought a bucket of carb dip to soak a rebuild I am planning to do. I never used the dip method before, I usually just used the spray cleaner. Anywho- I just wondered if I could store it and reuse it later, or if it's a one-use thing.

Shityeah keep that stuff. It is reusable. Keep it sealed tight in the gallon paint can it comes in, as it is flammable.

I have a gallon of the Berryman's stuff sitting on my shelf. Probably 4 years old now. Still good.

It is good for many other things besides dipping carbs. I've used it on tools and machine parts.

Make sure you pound that lid on tight as it will evaporate. I've had that happen a couple of times to the NAPA carb cleaner in the gallon can with basket.

Thanks for the tips guys. If you ever need a can of that Berrymans, Wal-mart had it for $18, compared to Autozone wanting $28. I was kinda surprised that Wal-mart even had it, and that it was so much cheaper there.

Hint. Vent your can, one time, in hot weather, especially if the last time you sealed it up was in cool weather !

Also if you are where it gets hot in the summer you will want to store it in a cool place. It will go bad if it stays in the heat too long. I kept mine in the garage last summer here in TX and I imagine the temps in the garage stayed above 100-110 for most of the summer. When it was time to use the carb dip again it was useless.

^ if you're talking about the Berryman's in the one-gallon can:

after a nice chat with a lady on the phone at Berryman's I learned a couple things:
1. the product is more effective at "normal room temperature".
2. the product tends to warm up a bit when it's "working".
3. do not put dirty lawnmower carburetors in the can and then clamp the lid down really tight during the summer months. the product will produce gasses that expand.

of course, if you want to see the lid pop off and fly up in the air about 8 feet, go ahead and try it. scared the beejeezus out of me, though.

Same with other automotive chemicals, there isn't a Great Value line of them (yet). I'd have to go look at my receipts but a 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 full synthetic motor oil was about the same amount cheaper than Autozone. I do buy my oil filters elsewhere, not a fan of Fram.

Edit: I have a can of Berryman's I bought about 8 years ago for a Honda V65 Sabre rebuild. I've used it a few times so the level is down, I had heard the bottom of the can can rust, but mine hasn't.

Never had much luck with the berrymans dip. Best cleaner I've found is the super tech carb cleaner at Walmart, wish it came in a dip.

Just get toluene and acetone and mix them about 40% toluene and 60% acetone and you have it.
You don't need propane as that's the propellent.
