I have a Husqvarna 145BT backpack leaf blower. I bought it used about 10 years ago. Not sure how old it is, but it seemed a bit worn at that point.

It's hard to start and it leaks fuel from the carb, but once it starts, it has great power.

I'd just about given up on finding a carb rebuild kit after looking on ereplacementparts.com and jack's small engines. They both indicate the gaskets are no longer available.

On a whim, I searched on amazon. There are brand new complete carbs on there that seem like they match (with one caveat) for under $20.
The number on the carb is a WYK 74 219. The parts on amazon are NOT walbro - they are Atoparts, FitBest, and Nimtek, and a few others. There is a genuine walbro for about $43, but it still has the same problem - these carbs are described at WYK 74 or WYK 74-1.

Anyone have any experience here? Are the knock-off carbs ****? Is the 219 suffix on my carb significant enough to make it not work?

I've bought a bunch of used small engine equipment for dirt cheap from people that don't maintain them or run non-ethanol gas...and that don't know how to fix them when they stop running or start leaking fuel. So far I've gotten a Stihl string trimmer, an Echo blower, Husqvarna snowblower and a John Deere mower. All in good shape but just needed the carb to be rebuilt/replaced.

I ended up buying complete replacement kits off Amazon, some of which definitely came from China. All are still working well with non-ethanol gas and complete draining at the end of the season.

i checked ereplacements and they list a kit # k13 wyk as your kit. if you're not particular about oem parts, those imported carbs work. i bought 1 for a trimmer i have and it's held up. it was cheaper than a kit.

Just buy a 5-$10 carb kit and fit it yourself. Your much better off with OEM carb rebuilt than a Chinese hit & miss job that may not work out of the box. Most OEM carbs are made in China or other 2nd/3rd world countries & they work fine. But the AM copies are a crapshoot. Send member Spike60 on Arboristsite a PM and he will most likely sort you out. You don't have a big problem if you deal with it right.

The correct carb kit should be a Walbro K21-WYK, Walboro carb kits are very generic and often fit 5-10 different carbs so in most situations a carb kit for a WKY-74 carb kit should fit all WKY-74 carbs. I would find your local power equipment dealer and see if you can buy a genuine Walbro kit from them they will know for sure if it is or is not NLA.
