carburetor leaking at block

My carb is leaking at the hole where the nail is pointing to. I have a gasket between the block and the carb but you can see the maze like groove in the carb that starts at the hole and goes to the bottom of the carb.

Fuel is just pouring out.

Anyone know what this hole is supposed to do? Is it supposed to **** in air?

New carb? Maybe that's a hole from the machining stage and should have been plugged, or the plug came out.

I don't know much about specific carbs though. Giving some info on what it's off of may get better responses.

atmospheric vent for the float bowl. your needle & seat and/or float is boogered

Yeah, stuck float. So obviously a vent now that its mentioned.

Fuel bowl vent. Do what others have said and pull the carb and inspect the float for pinholes or cracks, it doesn't take much.

If you recently replaced the gasket and it came in a kit, it might not be the correct thickness. Check gaskets for the make/model that aren't part of a rebuild kit. I've only had this happen with one kit, so not sure how widespread it is, but it gave me some grief so I'm mentioning it.

I hope the guys that invented/designed carbs lived good lives as anytime I take one apart it never ceases to blow my mind.

That looks like a small carb for something like a lawnmower, or a weedeater or chainsaw. You can buy a complete new carb off the internet, cheaply, it's not worth the time and $ to buy a rebuild kit anymore.

Ayuh,..... Looks like a carb from a small Honda motor to me,......

The carb is off a chinese greyhound 13 hp motor. It's a honda gx390 clone.
The carb is new.

I will pull the carb and inspect the float bowl.
