Never posted here before but I got an email from Napa, Carlyle tool sale, looks like some great deals. FWIW, I'm picking up a R38LFLQR ratchet....

Let me know what you think of that ratchet. I've been thinking about grabbing one of their P90 1/4" drives but the comfort grip looks like it might be too bulky to actually be comfortable. I'm also looking at their mid-depth 1/4" drive sockets, since I already have the 3/8" drive in that form factor.
I'm eyeballing a few things in the flyer, as well.
Jumbo - for what it's worth, I have the comfort grip 100 roto head. Probably my favorite 1/4" ratchet and I like the handle, no problems with it.
The roto is a bit longer than the fixed head though, right? Seemed like the P90's grip runs right up against the mechanism from the stock photos. I wish my NAPA carried more Carlyle stuff so I could handle the tools before I purchase. What I've gotten so far has been great mostly - the flex nut driver's bolster irritated me a bit - but they only seem to stock the folding hex key sets.

I've been very interested in those, as the Snap-on / MAC branded ones look identical, and it makes me wonder about the COO on the Carlyle branded set VS the piss poor etching that says USA on the Snappy/MAC pliers...

I wouldn't say identical. The grips on the snap on are way different than on the Carlyle. I have the Carlyle pair linked and like them. They are made in Taiwan.

The Mac and Carlyle are identical to the otc versions. The COO is Taiwan on the Mac and Carlyle. I have seen both in person. The handles are much thinner on the Mac and Carlyle. The snap on version has a much more comfortable handles. The metal is thicker as well.

There's a part of me that wants to buy one, peel or pry the grip off, and see how I fare going forward. I need a 1/4" ratchet, my Craftsmans are giving out left and right, and as much as I'd like a roto I think I'd get better service from a fixed head.
I do want the higher tooth count though. My five minutes with an Armstrong MAXX showed me what I was missing out on. Pity it broke so quickly. Definitely whetted my appetite though.
