Let me know what you think of that ratchet. I've been thinking about grabbing one of their P90 1/4" drives but the comfort grip looks like it might be too bulky to actually be comfortable. I'm also looking at their mid-depth 1/4" drive sockets, since I already have the 3/8" drive in that form factor.

I'm eyeballing a few things in the flyer, as well.

Jumbo - for what it's worth, I have the comfort grip 100 roto head. Probably my favorite 1/4" ratchet and I like the handle, no problems with it.

I've got the matching 1/4" and really like it. I've been waiting for the 3/8 to go on sale, will be ordering from my local Napa tomorrow.

The roto is a bit longer than the fixed head though, right? Seemed like the P90's grip runs right up against the mechanism from the stock photos. I wish my NAPA carried more Carlyle stuff so I could handle the tools before I purchase. What I've gotten so far has been great mostly - the flex nut driver's bolster irritated me a bit - but they only seem to stock the folding hex key sets.

It looks like you're right looking at the pictures. I hadn't seen the standard 1/4 before

But I agree with you, my local Napa doesn't seem to stock a lot, either.

There's a part of me that wants to buy one, peel or pry the grip off, and see how I fare going forward. I need a 1/4" ratchet, my Craftsmans are giving out left and right, and as much as I'd like a roto I think I'd get better service from a fixed head.

I do want the higher tooth count though. My five minutes with an Armstrong MAXX showed me what I was missing out on. Pity it broke so quickly. Definitely whetted my appetite though.

I've been very interested in those, as the Snap-on / MAC branded ones are identical, and it makes me wonder about the COO on the Carlyle branded set VS the piss poor etching that says USA on the Snappy/MAC pliers...

I wouldn't say identical. The grips on the snap on are way different than on the Carlyle. I have the Carlyle pair linked and like them. They are made in Taiwan.

I edited my original post, I meant to say they "look identical", since I've only even see the Carlyle set through pictures, and the Snap-on set I have at work (and my friend's MAC set that got me to buy mine) even have the same markings and writing on the head (for how blurry it is on there, I had to double check that my set even said USA on them ).

I want to find out who makes the USA stamped ones, since multiple truck brands are throwing their logo on them, but only seem to find the matching Taiwan pliers.

The Mac and Carlyle are identical to the otc versions. The COO is Taiwan on the Mac and Carlyle. I have seen both in person. The handles are much thinner on the Mac and Carlyle. The snap on version has a much more comfortable handles. The metal is thicker as well.

Thanks for the info, I should have checked my buddies MAC set for COO, and explains why the Snap-on set I bought seemed larger than I remembered the MAC ones being. Now to add them to the Tool Truck Equivalents.

Mystery solved!

My Carlyle roto head is my go to 1/4". I have fixed head and flex head as well. If you are looking for a solid handle fine tooth 1/4", get an SK. I have two fixed and one flex and they are fantastic with a nice tooth count.
