I got an email flyer from Menards for the below light. I bought one as it seem to a pretty good deal. Napa is selling it for $135.

I just use a Costco/FEIT 'double-bulb' 4 ft strip light and prop it up if I need to work under the hood. I use it under the car too, it works well.

The Menards luminaire looks like a good price for one with features. No Menards I know of here in So. FL. We just started having O-Reilly's come in a few places. Mostly it's NAPA (where I prefer to go), Auto Zone, and Advance Auto, where I can use a commercial account, and pay cash. I save a lot of $ with that last one.

I’ve got the SO underhood light, it cost a little more than that 😕
Keep an eye on your hood though, the extra weight causes the hood on one of my cars to slam shut. I’m not real crazy about the charging method/battery on those but I have a little handheld like that that’s hung around longer than I ever expected it would.

IMO, you can’t have too many lights. My favorite use of the underhood light is actually inside the car. I have a little M12 light with magnetic base and articulating arm that’s really my go to everywhere else

Yeah, I would never want a rechargeable underhood light.
