I'm thinking through my storage needs in the shop. The large section will have 10' walls. I have 6 medium sized rolls (various thickness) left over from our house build that I need to store, and I'm looking for ideas. Would a simple cat-walk type shelf up high work, or should I simply leave a large enough hole in the ceiling to plop them up in the attic space.

The reason I'm keeping them is that the pieces are large enough to replace whole sections (ie: stairs) when the time comes, so they are worth a bit of money.

Ideas are appreciated.

Thanks!

if you can put them in the atic I would do that. you wont need to access them for a while so keeping them out of the way will be a benifit.

while I was at it I would look at decking part of the atic area so you can store other stuff you dont need much access to

the other thing you can do is put the screw in hooks in the ceiling (so that they go into wood) and then hook a short lenth of chain to each end to create a loop that hangs down that will hold the carpet roll. I would have 1 chain every 2-3 ft
