Anyone use commercial-style carpet tiles under certain areas of the garage? like under the area around the workbench? or under areas where you're going to be working on the car?
They seem cheap enough to be disposable, should i spill something on them, particularly if i get "remnants" or leftover "off-color" tiles from the local commercial carpet place. They're not cheap enough to throw out after one job, but if i have to replace a handfull every 6 months or so, it's no big deal.
Just seems like it would be nicer than a cold concrete floor (for those of us without radiant floor heat!)
I'm not looking to cover the whole garage (I already have an epoxy floor), just a few areas where i'm going to be working. I'd probably move a block of them underneath whatever i'm working on at the moment. I was thinking of using double-sided tape to keep them in place.
This garage is primairly for my summer car, so i don't have to worry too much about the car bringing in rain, and snow, and other junk.
So, Good idea? Bad idea? Do they load up with workbench droppings, or other ****?
