Just finished adding a 21' X 21' carport after closing another in for a Ebay room and need some ideas on, I call them, car stops. This carport is not enclosed and is opened on three sides including the front which in some spots is 12 " high for the slab to be level. My ? is I need something to remind my wife and me to stop before running off the end. I put some tennis balls on a string to bump the windshield and it works, but looks like cramp. Please give me some ideas that would work and look nice. Thanks up front......Frank

I memorize a spot on the side wall to pull even with.
If it is too blank a PIC or strip of paint works.
A temp 2x4 in the right place for the tires to bump into untill you know the spot.

With your space, I would go with something on the floor. But be ready to trip over it!

When we were living in South Gerogia, my did was walking around bare-footed and tripped over the rubber wheel chaulk and broke his big toe. It was funny as hell, till he had to go to work wearing a big ski boot. At the time he was a MGS in the Corp and was teased big-time!

Just get a couple of the concrete parking stops like they use at the stores.Anchor them to the floor and you are done! We bought some once and they were not to high,Way cheaper than damaging your ride from running off the end.

You can get sonar parking guides that mount on the wall ahead of where you pull in, and a light comes on when you are at the predetermined "right" distance from the sensor.
If there is no wall ahead of the parking spot, a "bump" on the floor is the best solution.
You can buy those too.

Mine is a little more low-tech. I duct-taped a 2x3 to the floor where my wheel hits it.

Mount the laser somewhere up on the ceiling. Point at dash. You'll see the laser coming up the hood, and onto the dash. Then stop. :D

Wow, what an idea... Not for the carport, but for the lift! Centered on the lift, it would tell you if you are centered when pulling onto the lift itself. Thanks!

(Now I can take down the hanging tennis ball!!! :lol_hitti )

I use this:

That is what I use also. Once I got the correct location, I outlined it with blue painters tape. My grandkids like to move them when the car and truck are out of the garage and the tape gives the exact location to put them back in.
