I had a 22x31 carport garage (the one that the steel runs horizontal) put up in 2003 and at the time was just for mowers and such not it is a shop. The shop has its challenges like finishing the inside with power and heat after being spray foamed 3 years ago. We put a 20x20 lean to on the back sort of nested in just for mowers and yard & gardening tools now I want to build pole type lean to on the side for work shop and bathroom and was wondering best way to tie into roof or if anybody has done this.

Thanks Ron

A picture or two would be VERY helpful. It is hard to imagine exactly what you have from your description. If we could see exactly what you have then it would be much easier to give you some ideas as to what could be done.

By the way, Merry Christmas.

I think I'm looking at doing something similar to a carport and can't find any pictures of one that has been modified like I'm wanting. It is 18x21' and not closed in with spray foam. I'm planning to bolt 2x4's to the metal frame to support the joist that connects the current roof to the lean to and use 4x4's about 10ft out and run the roof panels perpendicular to the direction of the original roof panels. I was originally going to continue the slope of the roof with 2x4's but ended up with a different style panel that I picked up cheap and had to change the plan, this will also allow me to keep it a little taller on the low end. I'm curious if this is similar to what you're working with.
