So I have this crazy concept of taking an old metal tube frame from one of those vinyl covered 10' x 20 ' carports (that rip after 2 years) and making it a more semi-permanent storage structure.

On the roof I plan on attaching some wood nailers and then covering it with corrugated steel panals.

The sides is where I'm stuck. I could use treated plywood (Expensive and heavy) or possible some other options like old shipping pallets?

Ideas appreciated and remember how cheap I am!

Fiberglass panels would be great and would never rust. A bit pricier that steel though. Just not sure how I would address the ridge cap.

Get a prefabbed ridge cap, or bend flashing.

You want "furring strips" which are cheapo 5/8 x 2-1/2 boards used for hanging paneling, etc. Screw/bolt those to the metal frame and then attach your roofing to those.

For cheap roofing look for used panels, you can probably find rusty steel roofing cheap and then get some mistinted paint for a song.
