I'm an newbe to this discussion so my apologies if I'm going about it wrong.
Been following the tread about building carriage house doors and that's my project as well. Got lots of good ideas from everyone's post including links to some great sites. Thanks everyone!
For some crazy reason I have got it in my head to build these doors using 2x6 df T&G mounted on a 2x4 frame. I'm thinking of laying the boards horizontal instead of vertical which seems to be the way its almost always done in the photos and maybe there is a reason for that? Not worried about water drainage which is the only reason I can think of for not doing it that way, but I would like to see some pics if there are any out there. Can anyone give me some guidance here. Much appreciated.
Oh yeah- There are three bays in the garage. 8x10, 10x10, 8x10.
So this will mean 6 doors totals. Heavy I know, but I figure on using 8 hinges on each bay.
