We took an indirect hit from a lightning strike last week - 10 feet from the house (a tree was hit), and the A/C has not functioned correctly since.
An HVAC contractor (whom installed this system 5 years ago) was hired to check it out, and they tested everything and gave it a clean bill of health.
80s inside with the system running all day tells me something is wrong.
I went into the attic just now and noticed both dampers were closed while the system was running. This caused the ductwork on the top of the inside unit to blow out and I taped it up with foil tape. I manually opened the dampers for the downstairs zone and it seems to be blowing much better, but not as strong as it used to. The damper (picutred) was making a loud buzzing noise when powered, but not moving.
How do I test the dampers, to determine if they're working or if the control board is shot?
