I have another thread about carts. Basically asking krsc33 vs. the similar Blue Point, both being flip lids. And also vs fully drawered krsc46 also a flip lid. It has really helped me a lot with numerous factors such as use, space, organization etc.

I'd like to ask you guys a quick question though, about 1 specific feature; Lids.
Flip top (plus being a big top compartment and possible magnetic storage on the lid),
sliding top (plus being a top compartment and work surface) ,
or a solid top (plus being work surface only)

Which plus/advantage is worth the most?
Just want to know your personal preference and possibly why?

Flip Top?

I did a search and got this as well: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-139789.html
Seems like flip tops were favorited but the guy still went with a sliding 416?

I would go with the 33. Ive never used this particular model but of all the styles this seems to be my favorite and a possibility of my buying if I could find one used. I used this style in school and both this and the solid top when I worked at the county. I have an old solid top I picked up somewhere now. Still prefer the 33 style. Never used a sliding lid buthave seen them. I like them but even when I worked for the county we never had the room for them and that was one of the biggest most open garages ever. We had two and they usually stayed in the corner and used as a table

I like a flat top for laying stuff on. My last cart, one of the bigger cornwells, I started leaving the top down and using it as a work surface. I looked pretty hard the matco cart with the sliding tops, but it was way to much money. Just my two cents.

I recently bought the KRSC416 exactly like the one in the video, and absolutely love the sliding top. I traded up from the 33 and really appreciate having a portable work surface and easy access to a deep top compartment. The only reason not to have the sliding top would be if space was really tight and you didn't have room to slide the top back.
