Anyone own any of the Case IH socket sets? I have been told they are snap on, and they do look the same to me, even down to the packaging they come in. They are about 1/4 of the snap on price though. Opinions? Im not concerned that they say Case IH on them insted of snap on, I buy tools to use and not sell. Thanks

Probably about the same as the Blue Point line..I've been lured into the New Holland dealer promising Snap On tools.I don't think they are US made, although the wrench sets looked decent.I almost bit the bullet on a 3/4 drive set while they had a sale going on this spring.

All the ones I have ever seen were import. They look allot like the new Kobalt tools. I know that Caterpillar tools are made by Williams which is a Snap-On company. This is a Case-IH tool kit...

Are the current Snap On sockets US made? The 3/4 set looks just like the Snap On set. Guess I will look at the box next time I go in to see where they are made at.

The head of that ratchet appears to be the same as the Blue Point/Williams import ratchet.

But, sometimes these house brand tools can have more than one supplier. Take CAT, for example.

This set on ebay is clearly made by Williams.

But this CAT ratchet is obviously a Proto, although the person who made the auction said it was a Snap-On ratchet.

From what I have seen, Case and NH tools are the imported Blue Point and Willams. I have seen the lower KRA 40" boxes rebadged for both two, I don't know the cose difference. Cat has rebadged SO and USA made Willams tools.

Hmm I wonder how the quality is on the import line? Good as the US line?

I don't think they are bad sockets, I just wouldn't buy them. I havn't priced the import Willams, but in my opion, the Blue Point sets are nuts for imports. I don't know how the Case and NH tools are priced.

The Case Ih sets are part of Williams import line but they do have a few bits which are US made including the snap ring pliers and ratcheting screwdriver. I have some and they are good tools. Its a shame that they arent made in the USA.

CAT tools are made by Snap On. The sockets and some wrenches are Snap On and the ratchets and other bits are Jh Williams. The premium line of tool boxes are made by Stanley Vidmar.

CAT used to have a basic line and premium line with Proto being the basic line and Snap On being the premium line.

The Case Ih prices are pretty good the ratcheting screwdriver being $24.95.

Thanks Gareth
