Hello!
I have about 15 casette tapes that have a ton of sentimental value to them as they are since passed family members talking about family history. I want to get them converted to a more modern digital format. I see that amazon sells converters...does anyone have experience with the $40 converters or have one they can recommend ?

If you have a cassette player you should be able to hook the output right to your computer and record it to a cd. I am pretty sure that there is a program in every version of Windows that will allow you to do it.

It should just be a matter of getting the appropriate cable that will connect the output of your cassette player to the input of your computer.

All you need is a tape player with a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo output (or 1/4" headphone jack) and a patch cable to plug it into a phone or computer. If it didn't come with a recording application it should be easy to find one. If you don't have a tape player now you can probably find one cheap at your local goodwill or post on nextdoor to see if a neighbor has one.
