I have been watching this stand for about five years at my buddy's small engine shop sitting outside. They were going to mount a vise on it but decided to let me have it. I checked weather cast steel or cast iron with the spark test and it is definitely cast iron. Anyone have any idea what it would of been sitting on it?

It sits to high at 32 inches for an anvil. Maybe a bench grinder?DSCF8887.JPG

What makes you say that? And were there any major company's making these stands?
Delta was a known maker, splayed leg stands is an occasional now a days description. The long skinny shape makes me think scroll saw, but a smaller bandsaw would be a second choice.

I think any older power tool catalog 30s to 50s might have examples. Not much on Delta in ITCL, maybe VM, but more difficult to search

Just select scroll / jig saw.

There might be general catalogs there too.

Meant to be bolted down; my guess is the bossed holes in the cross members is for a power shaft - lots of options for use - no casting numbers?

I'd second the kick press. I bought one just for the legs at a scrap yard. I scrapped the press and used them to build a custom butcher block stand for the kitchen. They're a bit bigger than yours, but very similiar.

Good ideas guys. I am still down the rabbit hole that RTM sent me. I think it is related to Rockwell - Delta. I am going to do some rough cleaning with the pressor washer and look for casting numbers. There has to be something on there. Thanks men.

I can't tell you what they were for but have a similar set of CI legs. They were under an arbor press that I bought - and then sold but kept the legs.
I widened them and made a stand for my milling machine stuff. Yours are nicer - more ornate.
By the way, "Nothing beats a great pair of legs" And... I still love Barbara Eden

Yea that is up my alley. Saw them live a few times back in the 70s. And who didn't dream of Jennie? I need a Jennie.

I still am thinking of a place for the legs. Maybe set in the middle of the kitchen and display the turkey. Wife would love it.

Have a great Thanksgiving and remember Turkey and Cranberry sauce and Ham and sweet potatoes. Just can't be beat.

I am guessing the legs were from a treadle lathe. i.e.
