Big companies like CAT and others take there branding and marketing very seriously. It must be profitable for them to do it and gives them added exposure.

Anyone know why they go through the trouble of having tools specially forged and packaged under their own label instead of just using Williams/Snap-On as a source directly? Seems odd.

I have this 1/4 drive socket set both sets of sockets are the same 12pt socket set. The only thing that has Cat on it is the screwdriver handle which also has a female drive on the end. I also have a Cat 1/2" torque wrench. I actually received the torque wrench for doing maintenance on some equipment we were contracted to install grates on at a steel mill. We had to use a wrench certified to cat specs its just a rebranded CDI with Cat laser etched on it.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362784090.307198.jpg

That set has only one logo and its on the 1/4 pass through driver. Only the part numbers on the rest of it. This is a 1/2 torque wrench just a CDI rebrand . The case has no markings.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363431060.591665.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1363431070.435113.jpg
