catching up on unread threads

I tend to have small amounts of time to read this site, so i can't just sit down and read all my subscribed threads at once.

Let's say I have thread A, B & C that I follow.

If I come to the site, and read A, but don't touch B & C - then next time I show up and "read new topics" for B or C, I start from the date & time I read A (or the last time I visited) -rather than the last time I read B or C.

Other sites have "last time I was here" set per individual threads, so I can read what I like, when I like, and stay up to date.

Is that an option here? Can I change a setting? Is something messed yup on my end, or is it a site-wide issue?

Thanks

Really?

There's no way to make the "go to first new post" actually work?
It works fine on other boards I read that use the same software...
