Category 3 venting lubrication??

Hey everyone!

I’m working on installing a Mr. heater big maxx heater in my garage and am using category 3 venting. I’ve read the instructions and it says to apply lubricant to the gaskets and it says to use Heat-Fab 7001SIL-5 Silicone Lubricant for EZ Vent Pipe, however, it looks like it’s only available online for me? I’m wondering if there is an alternative lubrication that I can use? I looked through Menards but I didn’t see anything obvious, most of what I was seeing was for automotive use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking at the instructions they only listed pipe bigger than 6" for that lube. EZ plus can use soapy water

I was reviewing the specs on the Menards website and they say it’s required so I went to the website and it looks like they state that it’s required for all sizes now?

They must think its gold. Sad that Menards doesn't list it on their web site and or include it. Call and talk to them what you'll have 4 joints and have to spend $50+ on a tube.
