Hey gang I'm pressed for time with caulking my expansion joints this weekend.
Armorseal epoxy is going down Monday.

Is there a product I can grab from Lowes to fill my expansion joints?

Thanks

They use to sell stuff that was self leveling and made for that, think it's in the concrete additive section.

^ ^ ^ Pretty sure that Sikaflex is what even the flooring pro's would recommend before putting down epoxy.

Looks like Florida is pretty hot right now so . . . being "too cold" is not going to be a problem !! ;) Forecast shows Orlando, FL as 96 degrees tomorrow !!

Good luck OP with your flooring. Post up as many pic's as you can during and after the process.

Are you trying to create a seamless look by filling contraction joints in the slab before you epoxy? Or do you want to fill the expansion joints at the perimeter after you epoxy?

The reason I ask is that SikaFlex is not design to apply a coating over it. It's too soft, doesn't sand well, and it will telegraph the joint right through the coating.

I was just trying to fill the cracks. I don't mind it appearance wise if the cracks are there.
Maybe I'll just leave them alone.

I'm going to put down Armorseal 1000HS and then a top coat of Rexthane the same color.

If you just want to fill some cracks, then pick up the Rust-Oleum Crack Repair Kit. You can get it at most home improvement centers. It's an epoxy filler that works well on cracks.

I did mine after the coatings. Installed gap filler rod, taped edges and used a floor joint sealant with as close as possible colour to my epoxy. The joints are there for a reason so I wanted something that was flexible.

I REALLY like what you did there!

One nice thing about the Sikaflex SL is that it is self leveling. So it requires no tooling to form a beautiful horizontal joint. But it only comes in grey and sandstone colors. I've used the grey to stop weeds from coming through sidewalk joints. It holds up to the elements outside just fine. Indoors, you don't necessarily need a polyurethane product, so going with a tinted caulk can give a better appearance. Though if you don't use a self leveling product, it takes a little more effort to get results like you did.

Thanks for the compliments! Product was Selleys Solar Flex in colour Sandstone. It took a week to stop being tacky but we're in winter here and my shed isn't heated.

I would have went the SL path, but Sikaflex SL and other SL's only come in grey here from what I could find.
