I have a gap around the pool where the safety curb meets the pool deck. The previous owner had this gap caulked. I want to re-caulk it to prevent water getting down there but am at a loss as to what type of caulk/gap filler I should be using. Here are some pictures showing where I want to apply the caulk. The gap varies some from nearly nothing to about 1/4" to 3/8" at the widest spot. The widest spot is only about three feet in length. Would greatly appreciate some direction. Thanks

I've used Sika self leveling sealant with good results on expansion joint of concrete floors but that was indoors. Probably would work fine and believe it's available in a few colors. Need to fill any deep cracks with backer rod or spray foam or it will just empty out before setting up.

I used Sikaflex sealant for years, outdoors, in Michigan.
Fill the gaps with backer rod yes, but I have also poured the cracks full of play sand to within about 1/2” of the top.

If you have a lot to caulk, price the sealant comparing the 29oz tube vs. the 10oz tube.
Yes you will need the larger caulking gun, but in my case the savings was more than enough to pay for the larger gun on the first job.

In Michigan I found it beneficial to warm the tubes as much as possible.
There never seemed to be enough sun to help so I warmed my tubes on top of my truck engine.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I see the Sika brand is available at HD so I believe I am going to go that route.

Over the last 40 years I've had two pools installed in my houses. This is what the pros use.......

I replaced mine once myself. As stated, I filled the cracks with sand and then followed with Deck-O-Seal. It also comes in caulking tubes. I went down to HF and bought a cheap air powered caulking gun and it made all the difference in the world!

Please note that tools don’t have to be expensive to work well. Not all expensive tools are overpriced, and not sll inexpensive tools are bad.
