Caulking driveway cracks?

Hey everyone,

I am 5 weeks from moving into our new home and our total driveway is about 2500 square feet. They just poured the concrete on Monday this week (4 days ago) and they cut lines into the concrete on Tuesday. Do I need to have the cut saw lines filled with caulk? When? Any brand recommendations? Thanks!

I live in Omaha Nebraska where we see all seasons and temps from -15F to +110F

Just wanted to say hello to a fellow Omahan!

I've got the materials to fill my driveway cracks one of these days. I'll sweep around sand first and then fill the cracks with PL self leveling concrete crack sealant.

I did it at a previous home in attempt to help with heaving in the winter. The stuff held up really well. Now I want to do it on my current drive way to make it look nice and to also keep out things (grass, weeds, leaves, etc.). I use a leaf blower after each time I mow and it is much easier to clean the driveway with cracks sealed than to have to follow each one to blow the stuff out.

Available at HD or Lowes.

Not cheap, but it holds up well in freeze/thaw cycles.

I wouldn't spend a nickle on anything at the big box stores. Any urethane based product will dry shrink and pull off the sides...look at 100% of all CVS and Walgreens Pharmacy joint fillers. Look at all joint fillers in Walmark and Meiger stores and yet the same stuff is spec'ed every job. The Seal Bond CS-5200 on my driveway is up to 1" wide and 1/2" deep and after three winters, zero dry shrinkage and zero pull off in over 500 lft. This is a small mfg in Michigan that makes about 9 products for the Construction Industry www.seal-bond.com

Sand topper?
I am also trying to figure out what to do with cut lines for my floor inside a business. The epoxy is going to be clear so the filler would need to be clear I assume? Any suggestions on this?

Has anyone considered using the urethane that they sell for installing windshields? That stuff is tough and flexible. Just asking.
