I had a plastic jug of paint thinner leak that was sitting on the floor and it eventually dissolved the chip flake. The epoxy (100% solids) was professionally installed by a reputable company that does a lot of commercial work and is supposed to be 15-20 mils thick. I had a non slip/wear resistant urethane top coat installed and is supposed to be 3-6 mils thick.
The base is undamaged, its the chip that was on top that melted. I'm guessing the thinner dissolved the urethane and then got to the chip.
I'll post what the repair is. Just wanted to let you all know what's possible. I've otherwise been very happy with the coatings.
