Hey guys, like many others.... I've been a ******** lurker on GJ for years. Finally took the plunge and signed up. Here's the run down. We moved into our dream home last November. Got through Christmas and started to renovate. 3 months later(March) literally the day we finished the reno, we had a fire in the car port. So were rebuilding the front fascia of the house new roof with a 12/6 pitch as well as adding a real garage. This was always the plan just not for a few years. Anyways, were working with designers now to finalize the final layout. The garage will be an attached 30x25 side entry layout. With e backside of the garage 35' wide with a 6' roll up door so I can drive my sled in. I will be installing track guides to prevent damage to the floor. That's all I know and care about right now. I will be updating the thread with pics every step of the way. Essentially a large one car garage, with parking for my sleds and john deere. I can't f'n wait to get this thing built.

This has to be one of the more unusual new member introductions. Sorry to hear about your fire and glad to have you with us. What was the cause of the fire ... and where in Canada are you from?

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yes, all were safe thankfully. Cause of the fire was ruled spontaneous combustion. I had just finished staining some barn board in the house that day. When I was done i threw the rags in my dump trailer which was parked in the carport. They started igniting, and one thing lead to another and wham. Full on inferno. The trailer was filled with sawdust and crown moulding trim from the days job.

I've always browsed garage gallery's, and followed a few members builds and always dreamed about building my own garage. There are some amazing garage spaces on this board, so I'll be picking and choosing ideas, and hopefully incorporate them into mine.

I've been using Father's Day sales to slowly stock up my tools again. Cabinets, tool boxes, tools, etc. You take for granted every tool you accumulate over time. No way I'll ever be able to replace everything. Lol
