Hello all - I joined here some time back and have always had an interest in remodeling and improving garage functions. I'm a bit nostalgiac and enjoy restoring old cars and antique jukeboxes although my 70 mach 1 restoration has occupied most of my time for the last two years.
My shop is about 30x40footprint with an upstairs loft. It's detached from the house with matching brick veneer and dormer windows. The inside walls were all finished out except for paint. The house was a foreclosure and judging from the electrical panel, the shop was used by PO as a wood shop with all the wood power tool circuits labeled. Also confimred by the large accumulations of saw dust on top of the shop light fixtures.
I have always liked the sterile corporate hangar look (ex aircraft mechanic) and one of the first things I did was prep and paint the floor in Sherwin Williams ArmorSeal gloss white. I did the attached garage in the same product but had tinted to match the wall color.
The garage had no cabinets and I found a deal on some commercial grade cabinets that were pulled from a high school lab. I am now looking for matching quality uppers as the cheapie wall cabinets I now have just arent up to the task.
I look forward to reading and sharing ideas. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to contribute and help others with our same common goals in mind.
