Cedar Playhouse Maintenance

Hey all, I have a Cedar playhouse that was here when we moved in. Getting ready to disassemble, replace needed wood, stain and reassemble. It has 3”x3” support posts that were originally sleeved with a green vinyl, but have consequently cracked, exposing the wood post. Curious if anyone has any leads on 3”x3” vinyl post sleeves

The only thing I can offer is to ensure that all of the cedar end grain is sealed with paint or stain and to check it periodically. Cedar is a good choice since it withstands an outdoor environment pretty well and isn't that toxic. However I've seen end grain cedar wick moisture and deteriorate faster, especially if it's vertical, In areas where snow can sit on the top of end grain boards, that part of the wood will start to break down sooner.

Appreciate that! I may result to staining them, but was really hoping to find the sleeves or someone to make them, to both keep the same look, and continue to protect. I’m just surprised they aren’t sold or easily available

Here's a place that has pvc sleeves but they're only 12" long.
