Cedar projects

I was given a pallet of reject cedar pieces for fire wood and hated to burn them all so I picked out some pieces and made some odds and ends from them. It was challenging to try to use the pieces to make something rather than envision something and build it, you have to look at the piece and then see the opportunity. I was told they were rejects from a guitar maker. I seen them as rough unfinished wood and felt that's how they should be.

Wine rack ?

It's a little to small for wine 4" deep by 2 3/4" squares I had thought it might be good for makeup or something along those lines. It was more a challenge to see if I could make it so that it would stand up and be on the diagonal. The next on is a knickknack shelf my daughter asked for

I sorted through a pile of about 500 board feet of cedar 1x8 siding I was storing. Cut off all the damaged ends yesterday.

Ripped about 50 board feet into kindling.

I kept about 10 pieces that were 2 feet or longer and ripped them into 1x6s.

I live in a cedar log cabin, so I keep, use and burn a lot of cedar.

Hopefully this thread gives me a few more ideas for things to make for around the house.

Shelf daughter wanted for in her bathroom for hair spray etc. I used what we call "snare" wire it's a smooth brass wire to support the shelf and hang it with. The wire comes through the back down the outside to the front through the base and across the front.
