This is literally just a couple of heavy screws or bolts into your beams. What part of this don't you feel comfortable doing?

use 3 inch finishing nail to locate your beam exactly on both sides. congratulations, you've just found the center of your beam!

then install some 1/2" thick ply about 4"w x 24"l for front and back hoist, mount the hoists on the board, hang your bicycles

it's literally that easy, it's how I did mine except that I also painted them white to match the ceiling

I have 3 of those in my garage and they are fairly easy to set up.

I used a short hunk of rope and a SS spring clamp to go around the rear tire rather than use the hook on the seat…

I‘ve had them set up for 5 years

I have a 10 ft ceiling in the garage at the lake house

I think you'll find that most around here have the attitude of, "why pay for something you can do yourself" and if the only thing holding you back is failure then your never going to learn and improve. Give it your best and test it without the cars in the garage.

I understand your caution, maybe another cyclist in your area can help you. I would be glad to but, Houston is a far distance from Coronado.

Bike seldom win when they crash into cars. I truly appreciate your caution.

I would be shocked if there weren't several videos on YouTube showing exactly how to install whichever model you end up buying. It won't be a hard job, and you're been wanting an impact driver for a while now haven't you?
